When it comes down to your auto transmissions, a fluid leak or a low fluid level in general is probably what is causing you problems. If you don’t notice a puddle of red or clear liquid on your driveway then you will want to look out for various other symptoms. This could be the fact that your car is slow to engage or if it is slow to shift into a higher gear. Either way, these are both signs that your transmission fluid is very low and you will want to get this sorted out as soon as possible.
Other warning signs include the fact that your car is making strange noises or that it is slipping in and out of gear when you are out on the road. If your car is making grinding noises then this could be a problem with your bearings and this is causing the metal in your car to make contact.
Some vehicles come with warning lights that show you that there is a problem with your transmission. On a lot of cars however, this is linked to the computer which helps to control your engine. In other words, you might have an engine light come on, when really, the problem lies with your transmission. If you use your car for heavy loads then this will make your transmission work even harder and this can cause it to overheat. If you smell burning, your transmission could be overheating and you may need a fluid cooler.
Of course, there are other factors that could be at fault as well but if you notice any of these specific ones then you really do need to get it sorted out as soon as you can if you want to avoid problems in the future.
